Our Year in Review (2023)

Wow! A lot happened in 2023!

Daniel and I both retired in March 2023. We enjoyed our healthcare jobs and helping people but we were dreaming about other adventures. To celebrate our retirement, we spent two weeks at our new property in Tennessee – 36.4 acres overlooking the Sequatchie valley.

We got married in July 2023 in the backyard of our home. We had food from our favorite restaurants, we were surrounded by close family and friends, and we listened to good music (Thanks MacKenzie!). My sister was the officiant (Thanks Kim!). It was a sweetly emotional, relaxing, and just perfect day for us.

We spent our honeymoon camping at Hocking Hills in Ohio. Such a pretty place and, dare I say, unexpected for Ohio. We hiked the state park and saw Old Man’s Cave. We explored surrounding towns, found a 600 year old oak tree, and went to the John Glenn Dark Sky Observatory.

We sold our house. We got the house packed up in about a month. Wow, does stuff accumulate over the years. I told Daniel that I never want to buy anything but consumables again. We stored all the stuff we wanted to keep at my parent’s house (Thanks guys!). The couple we sold our house to are dog lovers and really nice. They said our house had a good vibe. I think they liked our party deck.

We stayed in our camper for two months at my parent’s house. It was nice to test out living full-time in our camper. We had to figure out things like laundry, how long it takes our black tank to fill up, how well the inverter and battery will power the camper, etc.

And now… we are living our dream – traveling full time in our camper with our boys, Peter and Marcel.
