We took the boys for a walk during coffee time. The mountains in the distance were beautiful with the sun shining through the clouds.

We drove through the very small town (population of 74 according to the 2020 census) of Shell, WY on our way east. Someone is fixing up the center of town with a nice bar and store/restaurant plus a few nice, small homes. The town also decided to put in two Tesla chargers as a courtesy and only requested donations to cover their electricity costs. We paid for the kilowatts we used and left a thank you note in the drop box.

We stayed in a busy Walmart parking lot for the night. We talked to several neighbors about using the Tesla Model X to supply power for the camper. It’s so fun to talk to the people we met and hear of the cool stuff they’re doing. Daniel talked to a truck driver named Cliff who is an avid rock climber.

This morning, Daniel spent more time talking to Cliff, the man who drives trucks we met last night. Later, we drove further east today to stay for the night in Gillette, WY. Daniel was asked by a large group of teenagers if they could take pictures of their trucks with our Tesla Cybertruck. One young man, Sean, was particularly nice and we wish him luck in his future endeavors. The white truck rolled coal as it drove away. Of course. We should have known better.
