Days #737-742 of Our Epic Trip

We had our first experience with taking garbage to one of the sanitation stations in town. This will be something we have to do as I don’t think a garbage truck service will be willing to come to our house.

We walked onto our neighbors property (he had given us permission the last time we talked to him) and explored the woods and bluff. It was such a pretty walk. We saw the Joro spider again.

We also met a local who told us his father had put in the road on our property. He gave us the name of a person who used to own our property and may have knowledge of the coal mine and other history.

It’s a cold one today! We walked up the road to our property. And then… it snowed. And the snow stuck to the ground. Normally, cold and snow wouldn’t be a big deal but we live in a camper so we need to be concerned about pipes freezing.

We have also learned that Peter is a tick magnet. I have found 1-2 ticks on Marcel the whole time we have been here but Peter ends up with 5-6 every time we go for a walk.

We stayed toasty warm last night! It was still lightly snowing when we woke up.

We did some errands including going to a stone and rock business to see about gravel to fix our road. That led to getting the contact info for Justin of 4 Seasons Contracting who came to look at the road and whom Daniel talked with for a long time. We may have a good driveable road soon!

We ended the night at Sequatchie Valley Brewing Co where we had drinks with Tim, the owner of R and R RV Campground. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the PB&J beer that I really liked. The brewery was crowded because it was Singo night – song bingo. Daniel and I are really looking forward to getting to know our new community.

We drove to Jasper, TN to see a road roughed in by Justin. The view from this road was fantastic. We also called two references who gave him glowing reviews. So we feel comfortable moving forward in hiring him to fix our road.

We got back to our camper and just enjoyed the sunny day.

Justin and his wife, Tia, came to our camper and we talked for a long time before we signed the contract to get the road to our property fixed.

We had a lazy day but did see Justin and Tia when they dropped off a big piece of equipment to work on the road.

We spent a lot of time with Justin and Tia walking up the road to our property and discussing the plans. We really enjoyed hanging out with them and hope to count them as friends.

Two vegans and two vegan dogs traveling the country in a camper pulled by a Tesla. We love being frugal, cooking from scratch, exploring, hiking, and meeting fellow vegans.
